1. Energy storage
There are many places on a truck where air is used, from the siren to the brakes, etc. Without a storage cylinder, the amount of air pumped out by the air compressor alone is not enough. This is where the air pumped by the compressor needs to be stored in a storage cylinder first, to be used at critical times. 2. Filtration
We all know that the air contains a lot of dust and water molecules, as well as oil pumped into the air compressor failure, if into the vehicle's air circuit, over time, easy to damage the vehicle parts, to the safety of driving caused by a certain hidden danger. The air pumped in by the air compressor will make a short stay in the storage cylinder, as the relative weight of water molecules and dust and oil in the air is heavier than that of the air, so it will fall to the lower part of the storage cylinder, which then plays a filtering role.
3. Pressure stabilisation
When air is pumped into the vehicle via the air compressor, the up and down movement of the compressor piston makes the compressed air flowing into the vehicle air circuit very unstable. The storage cylinder acts as a reservoir, allowing the unstable air to pass through and then flowing out through the outlet to stabilise the compressed air.
4. Cooling
When outside air is drawn into the compressor and compressed, the volume becomes smaller and a certain temperature is generated. The temperature is high, the relative density will become smaller, making the volume of air stored less; the moisture carried in the air is not easy to precipitate because of the temperature. This is why the air entering the vehicle must first be cooled down. This cooling process is carried out in two parts, one is the spiral tube and the other is the air storage cylinder.
